Mr. Browne is the Managing Director of Capital Sports Ventures (CSV). Prior to joining the firm, he served as Vice President for the Greater Washington Sports Alliance (Sports Alliance). The Sports Alliance is the regional sports commission serving Washington, D.C., Maryland & Virginia. Mr. Browne served as the primary liaison between major sporting event rights holders and the National Capital Region.
In that role, Mr. Browne was responsible for spearheading the attraction and hosting of both domestic and international sporting events in Greater Washington, including NCAA Championships, All-Star Games and various Olympic qualifying sporting events. The Sports Alliance also created several new annual sporting events under his direction including the District of Columbia’s own National Marathon (now known as the Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Marathon) and the Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic.
Prior to joining the Sports Alliance, Mr. Browne served in the corporate consultancy division for Octagon Marketing. He managed several key accounts including BMW North America, FIFA World Cup, MasterCard and SNICKERS®. These accounts were responsible for the representation of various league, team, event and broadcast agreements around the world.
Mr. Browne serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University where he teaches Sports Event Planning & Facility Management. A native of Fairfax, VA, Mr. Browne graduated from the College of Charleston and currently resides in Arlington, VA.
